I do a lot of thinking and sometimes praying on the way to work in the mornings. I have a beautiful scenic drive of farms and woodlands. All of nature makes me appreciate my Creator. His artwork is on display for the world to enjoy and it is so sad when it is missed. The phrase “stop and smell the roses” takes on a whole new meaning when you view it as the art of the Creator.
Of course, one thought led to another and something on the radio triggered the word “hero.” The liberal news media touts anybody that makes mega millions a “hero.”
I have a hard time swallowing that someone who can carry a tune in a bucket a “hero.” Or even someone that can play ball for a living. Big deal!
A “hero” to me, is someone that fought valiantly for our country. Or a firefighter who risked his life for another. Or a police officer who daily puts his life on the line to protect and serve others. A hero deserves respect and honor. I’m sorry but a singer just pales in comparison.
My hero? He’s the One who died to save me. He willingly gave His life for mine. His love knows no boundaries. He’s always there when I need Him and even when I think I don’t. He will never leave me nor forsake me.
Jesus Christ is my Hero….and my Savior…and my Best Friend. Who’s yours?
